Programing HomeLink to your new LiftMaster Opener

Logo HomeLink

Congratulations!  You’ve just upgraded to a new LiftMaster Opener.  We all know remotes are precious commodities, and most cars today have one built right in!  If your car has HomeLink, you’re in luck!

We’ve created this easy Step-by-step instructions that will program MOST cars.

Don’t fret, if it doesn’t work, check your cars owners manual.  Some cars such as BMW, there are small changes such as holding the remote to the front bumper.

How to code in your HomeLink

This is a 3 step process

  • Car has to learn car
  • Car has to learn remote
  • Car has to learn operator
  1. Go into your car & find the HomeLink (see photo’s above, the house with the arrow is your key!) press & hold outside 2 buttons in car down for 15 to 20 seconds. This will clear codes. You will see “something” happen (depending on your model of car, ie. flashing, or turn to solid light, each car is different.)
  2. Press & hold the HomeLink button in your car that you want to open the door. Then press & hold the button on your remote that already opens that door. Hold them both down until it does “something” again.
  3. Go into garage & push smart button on back of the operator on ceiling.
  4. Go back into car & push that same homelink button again until it does that special “something” again.
